Determining Success or Failure
Compare the result of an active or passive roll against the difficulty.

Additional Effects of Success or Failure
Most of the time, the effects of succeeding or failing a particular roll are obvious or can be determined by the gamemaster. However, some rolls have additional effects applied depending on what kind of roll is made and the degree of success or failure acheived.

| Healing | Massive Failure | Aggravates the condition by a degree of severity. |
| Healing | Massive Success | Treats the condtion and reduces it by a degree of severity. |
| Mental Damage | Success | A point of fatigue is caused. |
| Mental Damage | Massive Success | A wound is caused. |
| Mundane skill | Massive Failure | Gain a fortune point. |
| Mundane skill | Massive Success | Gain a fortune point. |
| Passive | Any | No additional effect. |
| Physical Damage | Success | A wound is caused. |
| Physical Damage | Massive Success | Two wounds are caused. |
| Spellcasting | Massive Failure | A point of fatigue is sustained. |
